The copper filament is sealed beneath a clear polyurethane finish, so your toroid asks almost nothing of you. No polish, no chemicals, no fuss. A few small habits are all it takes to keep it for a decade.
I
— The finish
Bare copper darkens with time. The Aethertek lattice does not — every filament is hand-wound, then sealed twice in clear polyurethane. That thin, invisible coat locks the copper's warm tone in place and keeps skin, air, and moisture from ever reaching the metal underneath.
What that means for you is refreshingly little: you will never need copper cleaner, polishing cloths, or metal dips. In fact, those are the one thing to avoid — abrasives and solvents cloud the finish rather than brighten it. To keep the shine, all your toroid ever asks for is a soft, dry cloth.

II
— Everyday care
01 — Keep it dry
The seal is water-resistant, not waterproof — and the leather cord prefers to stay dry. Slip the toroid off before you shower, swim, or work up a heavy sweat. A little rain is fine; a soak is not.
02 — Wipe, don't scrub
When it needs a refresh, buff the lattice gently with a soft, dry cloth. If it has picked up a smudge, a barely-damp cloth followed by an immediate dry-off is plenty. No cleaners, ever.
03 — Scent & lotion first
Perfume, cologne, and lotion can dull any finish over time. Make the toroid the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off, so oils and sprays stay off the copper and the stones.
04 — Rest it well
When you set it down, lay it flat in the mesh pouch it arrived in, away from heat and long stretches of direct sunlight. That keeps the leather supple and the amethyst's colour deep.
The rest of the piece
Amethyst & carnelian
Wipe with the same soft cloth. Keep them clear of chemicals; direct sun over months can lighten amethyst.
Leather cord
Let it stay dry and it ages beautifully to a deep matte black. If it ever feels stiff, a little warmth from wear brings it back.
The slide closure
Adjusts 18″ to 32″ with no clasp to break. Slide gently to your length; it holds firm once set.
A toroid is built to be lived in, not shelved. Worn daily and kept dry, the sealed copper holds its warmth, the leather deepens, and the stones stay bright for years. This is a piece meant to travel a decade with you — the small habits on this page are simply how it gets there.
And if the finish ever wears thin at a high-contact edge — the way a favourite thing eventually does — we re-seal it for you. The workshop made it; the workshop keeps it. Just reach out, and we'll bring it back to full.
