A weighted center
The toroid is dense by design. You feel its resting place against the sternum — a quiet, steady cue to soften the shoulders and find the breath.
A toroid hand-woven from waxed black cord, threaded with a lattice of pure copper filament. Weighted. Quiet. Conductive. Made to be worn for a decade, not a season.

— The Object
Photographed in the studio, unedited. What you see is what arrives — a single, signed object with no two latticeworks identical.

02
— Why it earns its place
01
The toroid is dense by design. You feel its resting place against the sternum — a quiet, steady cue to soften the shoulders and find the breath.
02
A continuous plasmid of stillness — 99.9% pure copper, hand-wound through the form and brought into contact with the skin.
03
Copper's natural electromagnetic properties have been studied for over a century. The toroidal form invites a closed-loop field — a quiet counterweight to your day.
04
Four to six hours of work per piece, hand-wound copper wire by copper wire — no machines. Every cross-thread is tightened, sealed in polyurethane, and inspected under raking light.
05
A braided closure paired with a genuine amethyst focal and a carnelian lock bead. Slides freely, holds firm. Wear it at the collarbone, mid-chest, or low under a shirt. Yours to set.
06
No clasp, no gender, no era. The toroid sits comfortably on broad and slender frames alike — meant to be lived in, not displayed.
03
— Craft & Material
Cord
3 mm round leather necklace
Supple round leather, soft to the skin and weather-stable, ageing to a deep matte black.
Filament
99.9% pure copper, 0.3 mm
Hand-wound, copper wire by copper wire, in a continuous unbroken path. Drawn from a single source in northern Chile and annealed for softness before it ever meets the cord.
Closure
Amethyst focal · carnelian lock
A genuine amethyst focal jewel sits at the throat as the centerpiece, with a smaller carnelian bead set lower to lock the slide and hold your chosen length. The braided closure adjusts 18" to 32" — no clasp to break, no metal at the nape.
Form
2.6″ outer · 0.9″ thickness
Woven outward in twelve concentric passes, sealed in polyurethane, then finished a second time. Each piece tested for symmetry before it leaves the bench.
Time
4–6 hours of human work
Two artisans, no machinery. Each piece is hand-signed and accompanied by a business card noting the date it left the bench.
"If you're going to wear something every day, it should be the best thing in your drawer."

— The toroid
The toroid — the geometric form of a donut — is one of the few shapes in nature where energy that leaves a point eventually returns to it. It is the form of the Earth's magnetic field, of a smoke ring, of the cardiac muscle's electrical pulse.
For thousands of years, the toroid has been drawn into temple architecture, woven into talismans, and inscribed onto stone in cultures that had no contact with one another. The reason is not mystical — or rather, the mysticism is downstream of the physics. A closed-loop field is the most stable arrangement energy can take, and the human nervous system, like the Earth, is built to recognize it.
To wear a toroid is not to wear a symbol of grounding. It is to carry the geometry itself, in copper and cord, against the chest.

— The evidence
We don't ask you to take our word for it. Below are independent, peer-reviewed studies on the principles Aethertek is built on — copper's properties and conductive contact with the body. Each opens the full paper. They examine the underlying science, not this specific pendant.
Bacteria, yeasts, and viruses are rapidly inactivated on contact with metallic copper — a phenomenon researchers call "contact killing."
A review of how conductive contact with the Earth may influence sleep, pain, stress, and the autonomic nervous system.
A triple-blind randomized trial: participants who slept grounded showed markedly less muscle damage and faster recovery than the sham-grounded control group.
The heart generates the body's largest electromagnetic field — measurable several feet away with SQUID magnetometers — radiating outward in a toroidal (donut) form.
A peer-reviewed overview of the biofield — the field of energy and information proposed to help regulate living systems — a term coined by an NIH panel in 1992.
These independent sources examine the science of copper, conductive grounding, and the body's electromagnetic fields. Aethertek makes no medical claims; the pendant is a wearable object, not a treatment. Go deeper on the science →
